Chrysler - father and son

The Dodge Challenger is the name of three different generations of automobiles marketed by the Dodge division of Chrysler

First generation muscle
In an era when American built cars fused reliable motoring with unbeatable race bred machinery, the name of Chrysler echoed through the halls of middle America.

At the heart of Chrysler's Challenger and Charger machines is the Hemi powerplant - 426 cubic inches and almost 7 litres sees the standard vehicle hurtle down the standard quarter mile in 13.2 seconds.

The more common 440 6 pack RT (pictured below) carried Chrysler's badge down the quarter mile at 172km/h in just 13.4 seconds.

Like father like son - the second generation
Drawing from first generation heritage, the top of the line second generation R/T model features a 345 cubic inch 5.7 litre Hemi V8, producing 254 kW and 529 Nm of torque.

Power evidently runs in the family!
